Reshaping Ajman’s Corniche

Al Marwan Heavy Machinery

The Kobelco SK380 Amphibious Excavator, manufactured by Al Marwan, is not just another machine—it’s a game-changing solution in the transformation of Ajman’s Corniche. Built for stability and performance in waterlogged and soft terrain, the SK380 plays a crucial role in marine and coastal development, enabling large-scale excavation and material placement in areas inaccessible to standard excavators.

Deployed on-site in Ajman, the amphibious excavator is actively working along the Corniche, contributing to coastal reinforcement, land reclamation, and shoreline shaping. Its wide pontoons, long reach, and robust design make it an essential asset in building sustainable and resilient waterfront infrastructure. This project is not only a demonstration of engineering excellence but also a testament to Al Marwan’s commitment to local innovation and in-house manufacturing capability.

Groundlvl Media was commissioned to visually document the role of the SK380 in action.

The Job
Groundlvl delivered a cinematic project video capturing the Kobelco SK380 Amphibious Excavator in action along Ajman’s Corniche. This included sweeping drone footage, ground-level cinematography, and close-ups of the machine’s movement through water and soft ground. We also produced short-form social media reels, optimized for Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, as well as a curated set of high-resolution photos showcasing both the machine and the broader worksite.
The Method
Filming in a marine construction environment came with several complexities. The wet, unstable terrain made camera access and drone takeoffs/landings difficult. Working around tight safety zones, ongoing operations, and weather conditions required careful planning and coordination with on-site supervisors. Additionally, capturing the scale and capabilities of the amphibious machine while conveying its purpose within the larger coastal project meant finding the right balance.
The Coverage
We adopted a hybrid documentary and cinematic approach—focusing on real-time action, authentic movement, and engaging visuals. Our team used FPV and traditional drones, stabilized cameras, and telephoto lenses to capture a full range of perspectives—from high-energy sequences of the machine operating at full capacity to composed, detailed shots of its mechanics and controls. We worked closely with the Al Marwan project and operations teams to ensure that our presence on-site was efficient.
The Final Result
The final video provided Al Marwan with a high-impact visual asset that successfully showcased the Kobelco SK380 Amphibious Excavator as a flagship product of their manufacturing division. It highlighted the machine’s value in marine infrastructure projects and positioned Al Marwan as a leader in innovation, capability, and local production. The content has been used across digital platforms to build brand awareness and support sales conversations.
