Burwood North Station Crossover Cavern Sydney Metro Central Tunnelling Package

Groundlvl Media was engaged to capture the structural works delivered by Kelko Construction within the Burwood North crossover cavern, part of the Sydney Metro Central Tunnelling Package.

Groundlvl documented the scale and complexity of these works while construction was taking place concurrently with active tunnelling operations, capturing a rare look inside one of Sydney Metro’s major underground infrastructure structures.

The Job
Groundlvl produced a range of visual assets designed to showcase the scale and technical complexity of the works. Deliverables included: • Cinematic 16:9 project video • Vertical 9:16 social media reel for LinkedIn and Instagram • Professional ground photography documenting key structural works • Drone footage capturing the surrounding station precinct and project context • Edited imagery suitable for marketing, presentations and industry publications All content was produced to support Kelko
The Method
Access to the crossover cavern required strict adherence to site safety protocols, while working within a confined environment where construction activities were continuing around the crew. Lighting conditions were minimal, space was restricted, and the structure itself, spanning over 145 metres underground required careful planning to capture the full scale of the works.
The Coverage
Groundlvl approached the project with a focus on showcasing both scale and precision. By combining cinematic video, photography and controlled drone footage of the surrounding precinct, the project story could be told from both a macro and micro perspective.
The Final Result
The final content delivers a clear visual record of the complex structural works carried out inside the Burwood North crossover cavern.
