The production aimed to reveal not only the new design language and refined hydraulics but also the power of Intelligent Machine Control 3.0 — a system capable of automating every motion of the excavator with precision.

Beyond performance, this campaign focused on human connection — the operator experience, machine responsiveness, and the integration of safety systems such as KomVision Human & Object Detection and 2D Boundary Control.

The Job
Groundlvl delivered a 4K hero film, social-media reels for Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, high-resolution stills for Komatsu’s marketing and press kits, and web-ready content aligned with the national launch campaign. Each piece was designed to position the PC220LCi-12 as the benchmark for intelligent excavation technology in Australia.
The Method
Capturing an advanced machine like the PC220LCi-12 required balancing technical storytelling with cinematic flow. With the model not yet in full release across Australia, filming access was limited to specific demonstration windows. Each scene had to showcase automation, accuracy, and safety features in live operation — with zero margin for retakes. Groundlvl needed to communicate complexity — automation, control systems, sensors — without overwhelming the viewer. \
