IFG – Diaphragm Wall Construction | United Arab Emirates
Groundlvl was engaged by IFG to document their diaphragm wall operations — a core part of their world-leading foundation solutions. These walls range from 600 mm to 1,500 mm thick and reach depths beyond 100 metres, capable of performing in rock, sand, and groundwater alike.
IFG currently holds the world record for the largest fleet of diaphragm wall cutter machines, a testament to their scale, investment, and innovation in the field of geotechnical engineering.
Our objective was to visually convey the depth and complexity of this operation — showcasing both the machinery and the human expertise that make it possible.
The Job
The content suite included a 4K hero film, multiple 9:16 social reels, high-resolution still photography, and supporting behind-the-scenes content tailored for LinkedIn and YouTube. All assets were built to highlight IFG’s leadership in deep foundation engineering and support their growing regional presence.
The Method
Diaphragm wall construction presents visual and operational challenges unlike any other field of civil engineering. Tight urban sites, limited visibility below ground, and continuous machine cycles meant Groundlvl needed to plan coverage that felt immersive and cinematic — without interrupting live operations. Capturing vertical excavation work that happens below surface level required creative framing and specialised camera placement, all while ensuring safety & compliance with regulations
The Coverage
We focused on contrast: the sheer mechanical power of IFG’s cutter machines against the precision and skill of their operators. Wide establishing shots gave a sense of scale, while close-up detail revealed the technical finesse of the process. By pairing structured voice-over storytelling with natural site sound and dynamic pacing, we created a cinematic sequence that immerses viewers in the rhythm of deep foundation work.
The Final Result
The final production celebrates IFG as a benchmark for deep foundation expertise, innovation, and consistency — a company redefining what’s possible below ground. The video series and supporting photography now form part of IFG’s broader marketing and technical communication campaigns, highlighting their global capability across diaphragm walls, piling, and micro-tunnelling.
